About the Spring Lake Historical Society
The Spring Lake Historical Society was founded to facilitate exploration of the history of Spring Lake and its environs in order to deepen our understanding of America’s democratic heritage and Spring Lake’s contribution to that heritage.
To that end, the Spring Lake Historical Society collects, preserves and exhibits materials that illustrate the settlement, development and activity in and around Spring Lake throughout its history. These materials are on display at the Historical Society Museum. The Museum includes both a permanent display of the history of Spring Lake, and a gallery that changes periodically and focuses on specific events and activities in the history of Spring Lake.
The Spring Lake Historical Society conducts various events, meetings and tours relevant to Spring Lake’s history, and publishes a newsletter several times each year with information about recent and upcoming Historical Society activity.
The Spring Lake Historical Society accepts donations of records and artifacts relating to the history of Spring Lake. Examples of donations: Records and photographs (on paper or other media), artifacts and memorabilia, maps and architectural documents, paintings and other artwork, and manuscripts.
